Larnaca is a town on Cyprus, famous for the st. Lazar relics. He was the person, reanimated by Jesus and lived then more than 30 years. St. Lazar painted some icons, one of which is still kept I the Troodos mountains abbey. This icon preserved a miraculous power. The priests prohibit looking on the icon to ordinary people, as most of them do not endure this power. A transparent veil, that somehow diminishes the power, covers the icon and one can see the depicted there. There are many well-known icons and churches on Cyprus. This fact attracts a great number of tourists all over the world. There is a church of St. Lazar in Larnaca. It is close to Post Office and Athena apts, situated on wharf. The wharf is one of the most beautiful places here. It nicely decorated, with a lot of high palms, restaurants and cafes. Larnaca boasts a lake with pink flamingos. It is placed right after the airport, in the entrance to the town. Of course Larnaca has its tourists zone with bulk of hotels, cyprus villas and other places of resort, but speaking about nightlife, the center of it is considered Ayia Napa. Larnaca is mostly for curiosities.
